Each call to our Low-Cost Counselling service is dealt with promptly and the caller is matched with a suitable counsellor.
How much does it cost?
A suitable Low-Cost fee (€15-€25) is agreed between you and your assessor or counsellor The service is available to all, regardless of circumstances. We have male and female counsellors and a choice of day, evening, and weekend appointment.
There is a £20 fee for the initial assessment interview and the cost for further sessions is on a sliding scale from £15-£25 dependant on income and circumstances to be discussed at the assessment interview.
We charge the full fee for any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or for any non attended sessions without notice.
When can I start
Usually you can start in therapy straight away. We do not expect that you will need to wait but it can happen from time to time
How long is a session
Each session lasts 55 minutes and you will meet with your counsellor usually weekly. Please be on time but no earlier than 5 minutes. If you need to cancel a session please give as much notice as possible. If you fail to keep an appointment you will be charged for that missed session.
Low Cost Counselling
One of our aims of LCCL is to provide access to high quality, affordable counselling to people in the local area.
Our low-cost service is based at The London Therapy Centre in Richmond and is staffed by counsellors in training or recently qualified graduates. They all work under close supervision by our professional staff and they all carry professional insurance. Our Clinical Management and Supervisors are all accredited by BACP .
Who can use the service?
The service is available to those who are low-paid, unwaged or receiving benefits.

When will I be expected to attend?
Appointments will generally be scheduled at the same time each week. The maximum number of sessions available is usually twenty four.
We are open from 09.00am to 10.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays
What happens when I contact the service?
When you make contact with us we will arrange for an assessment to take place. The assessment aims to explore why you are looking for therapy at this time and what you are hoping for from attending. You may also have questions about the service or the process of therapy. The assessor will then match you with an appropriate counsellor and make arrangements for your appointments.
